Travel Planner for India – Finally!

What is the best mode of transportation from one city to another in India? Should you take a Train or car to go to that remote city where your close friend is getting married? How much would it cost to go via flight and then take a train? RoutePlanner, a new travel planner tool from MakeMyTrip.com group is here to plan your travel better.

To begin with you need to feed the start and end points. I planned to travel from Delhi to a town called Theni in Southern Tamil Nadu. I am surprised by the accuracy of the results. The tool performs some permutations and combinations and displays all the possible results. By default, the results are displayed sorted by their Route Rank which is based on the combination of travel convenience, duration and cost.

RoutePlanner is straight forward and user friendly and could be very helpful to plan your travel to Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities in India. The tool is currently in Beta stage and uses Google Maps API to gather information.
