What are the four steps in IELTS Couching

Step 1:pick the right IELTS test.

Whether you want to work, study, or move to an English-speaking country will determine which IELTS test you need to take. If you want to go to college or get a licence to work as a professional in an English-speaking country, you will probably have to take the IELTS Academic test. On the other hand, you should take the IELTS General Training test if you want to go to college, get training for a job, or move to Australia, New Zealand, Canada, or the UK.

Take IELTS Life Skills, which is only available in the UK, if you need to:

  • Apply for a visa for family members of settled people
  • Apply to extend a visa for your family, spouse, or partner
  • Apply to stay in the country indefinitely or to become a citizen.
  • Study in the UK at the undergraduate or graduate level
  • Apply to become a professional in the UK.
  • On our page about IELTS Life Skills, we explain in detail which IELTS Life Skills test you might need to take based on your situation.

Step 2: Familiarise yourself with the test

Once you know which IELTS test you need to take, you should learn about it, from how it is set up to what kinds of questions you might be asked. Do IELTS practise tests to get ready for the real test once you know how the test is set up and what kinds of questions will be asked. There are four parts to the IELTS test: speaking, reading, listening, and writing. Each part of the IELTS test has different tasks associated with it. You will need to learn what IELTS is, what skills are tested, and what the IELTS scores mean. Once you know more about IELTS, you should decide whether the Academic or General Training test is best for you. Step 3: Learn the different kinds of questions

Both the IELTS Academic and General Training tests have 4 parts: listening, reading, writing, and speaking. Each part of the test has a different kind of question. Learn about the types of questions you might see on each part of the test and how long you have to answer them. This includes the Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking tests. You can also use the free practice tests to get used to the different kinds of questions. Step 4: Understand the band scores

Your IELTS score is given to you as a band score, which ranges from 0 to 9. Each band score is a measure of how well you know English. You will get a total band score and a separate band score for each part of the tests. Scores are given in whole bands and half bands, like 7.0 and 8.5. It’s a good idea to know what each score means and how examiners mark the Speaking and Writing tests. Our page about how the IELTS is graded has great information to help you with this.
